On April 23, 2006 the prairie town of Medicine Hat, Alberta was rocked by a triple murder. A mother and father and their eight-year-old son Jacob were dead. Police charged the twelve-year-old daughter, JR and her boyfriend Jeremy Steinke, a twenty-three-year-old high-school dropout with the killings.
